Youth in Bluegrass-Branson

The 2009 KSMU Youth in Bluegrass Contest will be held at Silver Dollar City in Branson on May 23 and 24 at the Opera House Theater. The event will begin a 3pm on both days.
There are twenty bands competing from all over the country. While the contest is meant to feature young performers under 21 years of age, parents who play in family bands are permitted to compete with their children.
The prizes are $1200 from first place, $1000 for second place, $800 for third place, $600 for fourth place and $400 for fifth place.
While the Bost Family Traditions are grateful to be selected to compete in such an renowned contest - I think that the learning opportunity as well as friendships likely to develop will make the trip well worth while.
We look forward to pickin' out peculiar brand of bluegrass for everybody. I tell the children everyday: If you have done your best, then you are the winner!
Hope we see you there rootin' for us come contest day!
